This weekend Brock and I had the quickest road trip ever to Memphis for his cousin’s wedding. Have any of you been to Memphis? I’d like to go back and visit one day when we actually have more time. We had to squeeze it in over the course of a very short weekend. We immediately drove to Little Rock after work Friday night (to split the 5 hour drive to 2.5 chunks, gah) and spent the night with his aunt. We woke up super early the next day and drove to Memphis, checked in to hotel and spent a few hours on Beale Street, which was fun! I had no idea you could walk around on Beale Street with open containers- I still felt a little sheepish walking around with a margarita, though.

I found this banner poking fun at Memphis’ BBQ and thought it was appropriate for some blog pictures. Y’all. I really wanted to take a ton of fun photos for this trip- I know, I know, I’ve been saying over and over I would take your advice to heart and load up on my blog stuff over the weekend, but it was such a whirlwind. That on top of whatever funk I’m in, it hasn’t been too easy, so I apologize for my inconsistency the past month or so. I think I just need to take some time to figure a few things out and go from there. I love blogging- and I LOVE connecting with all of you!

I hope your weekend was longer and more plentiful than mine- how has your week been so far?

  1. Haha yeah I probably would have felt peculiar walking around with a drink in my hands as well – that aside though, you look brilliant! I adore the Kate Spade bag 🙂

  2. What a perfect, casual look for a road trip 🙂 Love your sleeveless blouse, so versatile!

And I completely understand if you need time when it comes to blogging! We all have our phases like that, just focus on what’s best for yourself. ❤ 🙂

    1. You’re sweet! It was fun, I’m not much a “going out supa late at night drinking type of gal” but it was fun people watching and wandering around with a margarita in hand. 🙂

  3. Man! Southerners love them some BBQ, seriously! I spent one week in Texas last week and I feel like I can’t even bear to look at another barbecued food item for the next two years 😅
