Happy Monday everyone! How was your weekend? Mine went by too fast, as usual. Friday was my birthday! Work peers, friends, and Brock definitely made me feel special. The older I get the more I realize that I all really want is to be surrounded by good people- and I’m lucky that I am!
Friday night we grabbed dinner at my favorite sushi place in town, Meiji. It’s a fun Japanese sushi house that also plays old kung fu movies while you eat! Afterwards we went to Maxines, a super fun bar away from the college kid crowds. On Saturday we drove to Eureka Springs- it’s a funky old town that has been around since the late 1800s. It’s windy and steep, there are no traffic lights and it’s home to the Crescent Hotel which is said to be one of the most haunted hotels in America.
I really should have taken more photos of the architecture…but food distracted me! We ate at a beer garden that made the BEST jerk chicken sandwich ever- it was so spicy, and I love spicy food, but it was almost too much. Poor Brock was melting like an ice cream cone! It was in the 90s which is absolutely way too hot for me. I immediately regretted not wearing a sleeveless top, but my striped top was super breathable and comfy.
We ended the day at Schulertown, which is an outdoor food truck court complete with a bar on Dickson Street. We love coming out there because we can people watch and bring Basquiat with us! He got lots of hugs and pets from little kids. All in all, it was a fun birthday weekend and I was spoiled with lots of love and running gear!
happy happy birthday!
