Happy Tuesday! How was your long weekend? Ours didn’t exactly turn out the way we planned…
We left for Tulsa right after work on Thursday to see Purity Ring at Caine’s. Once we got there, Brock and I immediately felt like the oldest people in the crowd. It was full of highschool aged kids and young college students. I felt so out of place! We were disappointed in the show because we are fairly confident the entire show they just played pre-recorded tracks. I question if the singer was actually doing any singing as well. I guess that’s to be expected with an electronic group…but I felt like we would have gotten the same experience if we had just listened to Spotify at home….oh well!
Weather has been bad near Arkansas/Oklahoma/Texas. Thankfully we haven’t had any severe flooding, but Texas has- a friend of mine who works for NASA told me today that she was one of a small group people that was able to make into work because the flooding in Houston is INSANE. She said the freeway was underwater! I’m hoping the rain lets up soon- I feel awful for all those who have lost homes or worse, family members.
The weather in Fayetteville this weekend was a bummer, just rain off and on, but just enough to cancel out any outdoorsy plans for the weekend. I got my 6 miles of running in on Saturday (no IT band pain!!) and was able to make it out for a 21 mile bike ride yesterday during a small break in the rain.
In our neighborhood there’s this really old convention center that’s kind of ghetto (ok, totally ghetto) and Brock noticed on the backside of the building that there was a spot covered in ivy. We took photos there on Saturday- I think I’ll definitely use it a photo spot for a while! I love the sweater in these photos- snagged it on super sale at Gap over the weekend and it’s a super pretty sage/ocean green color that makes me think of the Little Mermaid. I don’t know why I always end up buying sweaters in the summer…but at least they are cheap and I have plenty for winter!
Did you have any bad weather in your state? Did it cancel any plans you had for the long weekend? I hope not!
