If you’re reading this, you probably A) are friends with me, or want to be (obvi) B) questioning why the hell does this chick have cat illustrations on her blog header C) bookmarking this website as one of your new favorite blogs.
All jokes aside, obligatory YAY! for my first real post. I’ve missed blogging and used to blog consistently a few years ago but then, well, life happened and I put it on the back burner sadly. I think my mistake with my last blog was forcing silly rules on myself (i.e., better update the blog this week with 3 new outfit posts!). My husband reminded me- you should just do it for yourself and make it a lifestyle blog! So….that’s what I’m going to try to do.
A little introduction: My name is Jess and I’m a graphic designer based in the good ol’ bible belt. I live in a college town that I tend to enjoy more in the summer when students are gone, but it sure is prettier and far more comfortable in the fall- the colors of the leaves here are intense you guys! I work for an online fashion boutique which is pretty fun (and challenging at times) and I get to be surrounded by shoes all day and a gal can’t complain too much about that. I’ll be married 3 years in October to my sweet (and incredibly patient) husband, Brock. He’s kind of awesome. He’s a creative director out in a sea of design firms in Walmart Land. We’ve got two insanely adorable and incredibly stupid cats who are the center of our lives at home- a three legged fluff ball named Desmond Hume and a separation anxiety ridden brat named TC (tiny croissant- long story).
I’m a runner who mostly questions why I’m running in the middle of a run. I don’t like guacamole. Cats are obviously superior to dogs (although we want a dog!). Blue cheese is the best- in fact, the stankier the better. If I had to pick one designer to wear the rest of my life it would probably be Phillip Lim or Ralph Lauren. Brock says when I eat popcorn or chips I always tend to be choosy and pick and eliminate the weakest contenders in the bowl. I studied in Ireland for part of a summer one year but was mostly drunk the entire time. I have 3 tattoos but want to get more- in fact the next piece I’m getting is for my fatty cat Desmo!
Basically, I am just a girl trying to figure things out and the older I get the more I realize everyone around me is also doing the same. This is both comforting and slightly terrifying at the same time. And you know what? I’m okay with it.
